Surf's up teachers! Bring the ocean to your classroom and inspire your students, while meeting California content standards in Science, Math and Language Arts. Camp SEA Lab provides a complete support network to keep you and your students excited about ocean! Camp SEA Lab offers a variety of opportunities to get your class involved in marine science. Check out what we have to offer!
Teacher Workshops Camp SEA Lab hosts a series of teacher development workshops that aim to give educators new ideas and training in kit-based curriculum that integrates content background and skills to involve students in hands-on, standards based marine science. Once teachers receive training with the activities, curriculum kits are available for check out and use in their classroom, free of charge. Teachers who plan to bring their class to Camp SEA Lab outdoor school are encouraged to attend.

Outdoor School Camp SEA Lab hosts a marine science themed outdoor school during the school year for grades 3-8. Both overnight and day camp programs are available, and expose students to a multitude of marine ecosystems, community building and stewardship. "Build a model of a beach and explore the forces that shape it. Is it a good idea to build a house on the sand or beach cliff? Find out!" |

MARE's Current Trends:
Students examine the relationship between temperature, salinity, and density. Cooperative student groups rotate through three different activities and experiments set up as stations. |

MARE's Squid: Outside and Inside:
In this activity, students work in pairs to dissect a squid. They investigate structure and function of the squid and how they are well adapted to live in the open-ocean environment. **You provide the squid!** Supplemental Squid Cook Kit: Students participate in a "Calamari Festival," that enables students to 'complete the cycle' and reinforces the importance of each organism in the web of life. |

MBNMS LiMPETS -Rocky Intertidal
Gives students training in scientific sampling of the rocky intertidal zone. Kit includes simulated quadrats for students to practice their species identification and sampling techniques. Pair this kit with a field trip with Camp SEA Lab to the tide pools! |
