Day Camps

Camp SEA Lab day camp is a perfect opportunity for youth ages 8-13 to get a glimpse of the vast diversity that the ocean environment has to offer. Campers spend 5 days immersed in marine habitats with a variety of hands-on activities! Each day from 8:30am to 3:00pm, day campers can expect fun-filled days packed with exciting activities that introduce them to important marine concepts, help them to build self-confidence and relationships with their peers, and involve them in learning to care for our coasts and ocean.

Camp SEA Lab day programs vary by location and theme. Our camps utilize a wealth of resources throughout the central coast. From slough to sea, Camp SEA Lab partners with multiple marine organizations up and down the coast to provide the best possible program for our participants. Health and safety are always our primary concern, and each location is selected for our commitment to maintain a safe environment. Every camper receives a camp T-shirt free with tuition!

Snorkeling for Adventure

Ever wonder what mysteries lay beneath the waves? Discover the fascinating world of magnificent kelp forests, home to thousands of animals that rely upon the kelp for food, shelter, and survival. Come along and dive into this world with mask and snorkel to explore the diversity of life found within, and discover the many habitats in our Monterey Bay sanctuary! Campers must be able to swim.

Activities: snorkeling (2 days), boogie boarding, sand crab surveys, tidepooling, visit to Moss Landing Marine Lab

Location: Lover's Point, Pacific Grove (note: daily shuttle from Salinas available for $50 fee)
Age: 10-13
Fee: $375

Registration limited to 24 campers
Staff to camper ratio is at least 1:6

Between the Tides

What creatures live along the shoreline habitats of the Monterey Bay? Join us to discover the wonderful world of the intertidal zone! Get your hands wet while investigating many different sandy beach and rocky intertidal habitats, explore the beautiful coastline by kayak, get a surf lesson, and take exciting adventures to discover what wonderful creatures survives between the tides. Campers must be able to swim.

Activities: kayaking, surfing, tidepooling, boogie boarding, sand crab surveys, coastal hiking at Point Lobos, arts & crafts

Location: Del Monte Beach @ Camino El Estero Ave, Monterey (note: daily shuttle from Salinas available for $50 fee)
Age: 8-11
Fee: $375

Staff to camper ratio is at least 1:6

Session 1: June 12-16, 2017
Session 2:
June 26-30, 2017 Waitlist only

Flukes & Flippers

Discover the secrets of our finned ocean friends - whales, seals, and more! Each day will bring new adventures and opportunities to experience marine mammals in our amazing Monterey Bay sanctuary: learn field identification skills aboard a whale watching vessel; study the unique adaptations sea lions, seals, and otters have to survive life in the sea; practice surfing and go tidepooling!

Activities: whale watching, surfing, boogie boarding, sand crab surveys, tidepooling, visit to Moss Landing Marine Lab, building sand sculptures, arts & crafts

Location: Del Monte Beach @ Camino El Estero Ave, Monterey (note: daily shuttle from Salinas available for $50 fee)

Explore the Shore

Get ready to immerse yourself in the diverse and amazing ecosystem of Monterey Bay while you embark on the many adventures that await you!  Kayak over the kelp forest, trek through a chaparral forest along the coast, investigate the rocky intertidal, learn to snorkel, and experience hands-on exploration in our incredible shore-side habitats.  Each day brings new excitement and fun with friends! Campers must be able to swim.

Activities: kayaking, snorkeling, boogie boarding, coastal hiking, plankton studies, tidepooling

Location: Del Monte Beach @ Camino El Estero Ave, Monterey (note: daily shuttle from Salinas available for $50 fee)
Age: 8-11
Fee: $375

Camp SEA Lab offers limited transportation service from Salinas to aid families in getting their kids to and from camp each day.

Registration for the shuttle is on a first-come, first-served basis. An additional fee of $50 per week is required for this service and is non-refundable as of the Friday prior to the start of your camp week.
